ReNew Life Gains Patent on Sweetener

CLEARWATER, Fla.—ReNew Life Formulas received a U.S. patent (No. 7,368,142 B2), “Natural sweetener”, covering its formulation of fructose, luo han guo and inulin, which it sells as SweetLIFE™. The product was formulated by Brenda Watson, president of ReNew Life, and has no calories and contains less than 1 g of sugar per serving. According to the company, SweetLIFE is significantly sweeter than sugar and may be added to beverages and foods as well as used in cooking and baking.
